SE Up To 15 Knots: Winds Are Up In Roses

Adonis Bougiouris, GRE, achieved two more bullets yesterday in Standard Apprentice. He continues leading the classification with 6 points. Carlos Echavarri, ESP, the defending European Champion, sailed to a second and third place yesterday and continues in second position with 12 points, followed by Spirros Marmarinos with 20 points.

 

The Dutch occupy the top positions of the Standard Master. Martin Koning, NED, remains first with 13 points after having made a second and an inexplicable 29th place in the two races of the day. Compatriots Lennart Cnossen, with 18 points, Christian Gunni, with 22, and Arnoud Hummel,with 33, trail Koning in spirited pursuit.

 

In Standard Grand Master, Catalan Miguel Noguer stays in the lead despite the 9th place in yesterday’s second race. Wolfgang Gerz, GER, is second, only 3 points behind.

 

Brit Jon Emmet, in Radial Apprentice, is unstoppable in his quest to be on the highest pedestal after the final regatta. With another two victories, he accrues 5 bullets. As Catalan Mònica Azòn - 4th in the standing - says, “Emmet is stratospheric!”

Second is Jean Christophe Leydet, FRA, with 12 points, and third Ian Jones, GBR, with 17 points.

 

In Laser Master, Stephen Cockerill, GBR, is on a similar campaign as Emmet in Apprentice, also unstoppable with 5 victories after 6 races.

 

More Brits on top: Dave Holloway is first in Radial Grand Master, with 18 points, followed by Max Hunt, with 21, and Frenchman Daniel Devos with 26.

 

Finally, Peter Seidenberg, USA, dominates the Great Grand Master, sailing to a first and a second place for the day.
